Wearing the Willow
Wearing Willow began in 2015. It was my way to honor my daughter who gave us her seven months of life. Since those months were spent in the hospital, I found comfort sewing her blankets, and making gifts for her nurses. When she passed I took my life-long love for sewing, and my love for her and combined them. I used this time to focus on her, and pour my love into my work. Naming this project came next.
"Wearing the Willow" is an old term of someone who is grieving a loved one. As her middle name was "Willow" the name felt perfect. My loved ones encouraged me to turn this into a business prospective and "WearingWillow" took off!
Learning all about this new business world meant that next, I learned about the importance of compliance! I spent the next month learning all the laws and requirements for making items for babies and children. Once completed, I opened up shop!
I follow all safety requirements set by the CPSC/CPSIA. This means I am a registered small batch manufacturer, my items go through extra testing, and have a permanent label sewn into your items in case of a recall. I want only the best for my customers!
Thank you for visiting my shop! :)
